Fall Jamicures

After a month straight of pink manicures, I decided to jump into the Fall season! I wanted to go outside my comfort zone a little. So what says fall, and opposite of pink? Black, right?

Jamberry has a ton of black and white designs to give a great classic manicure.  You can check them out here.... http://stephanieb.jamberrynails.net/color/Black

I've been eyeing up Static for a while now, but couldn't think of what I wanted to pair it with. I'd also had my eye on Black & White Quad. So.... why not put them together!?  I love to mix and match my Jams! I showed my husband and he gave his approval of, "Yeah, those look pretty cool."

I decided to take advantage of the Fall weather while running out to get my mail. I mean, who says you can't have a mini photo op in your driveway?! ;)

So what do you think? Do you love it, or Would you leave it?

I also did a new pedicure! This is one of my all time favorite designs. I stocked up before it retired so I can wear it many, many times. -lol- Here is Black Lace on Magenta. (which you can totally re-create with Black Lace over any solids/glimmers/lacquers!!)

This photo is at 16 days, and it's clear my Jamicure is still going on strong!!!

Jamberry Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Support

I've been slacking in updating!! It's been a busy month!

A friend of mine posted on Facebook that she was going to wear pink manis throughout October to show support for a friend of hers who has breast cancer. I spent the past three and a half years working at The American Cancer Society, so I thought it would be great to show support too. My friend created the #manisformandy that we used on Facebook and Instagram.

Here are pictures of my month long pink manis for October!

First Jamicure of October!

So, do you want to know what a Jamicure looks like when a husband says, "That's my favorite. I really like it, it's cool. That's the best one you've ever done"?  I bet you do!

I store all of my Jamberry Nails sheets in a spiral photo album (holds two 4x6's per page). I was flipping through, trying to find two that I wanted to mix & match for my next application. I thought about a pretty floral, or a black and white because I haven't done one of those in a long time. Then I really wanted to wear one of my new designs from the Fall/Winter 2014 catalog. So I grabbed Gala, which is pink, purple & silver metallic. I looked through my wraps to find a suitable match, when the light bulb went off. There was no question. I needed another metallic color, but a pattern might be too busy. Solids it is. I don't have many solids so my choices were limited but this one... PERFECT.

Gala & Orchid Glimmer.

I didn't think my husband was going to like it. I thought Gala sort of has an '80's look to it (which he despises), so I was thinking his response would be, "Yeah, it's okay. Not my favorite." Just when you think you really know a man.... lol

As a consultant there are a ton of resource on Facebook. I've joined a handful of different groups where we share photos, party ideas, etc. There's one that is specifically to share photos of Jamberry Nails on "real hands" that others are able to re-use to show their customers. With so many consultants & customers, the photos and mix & match of wrap ideas becomes endless! I've never had this many "likes" on my photos in this group before! It felt like winning the Jackpot!!
There was only one other time I had, apparently, taken a pretty decent photo because I later saw it re-posted on Instagram, and someone had put together a photo album of every single current design.. and it was in there. But that feels like nothing compared to THIS.
Holy. Moly.

Even I can't stop checkin' out my shiny, glimmer-y nails while I type this! ;)

Last Jamicure for September ......

The end of September was pretty busy for my husband and I. He had some projects at work that were taking some extra long hours, and we were expecting our very first visitors in our new place. Very exciting! My parents were here for six days; which we cram-packed full of touristy places to see, and delicious food.
On the last day my parents were visiting, my husband and I were waiting for them to check out of their hotel to come meet us so we could go out for brunch before they headed out of town. I knew it would take them a few minutes from when they called to say they were on their way, so I did what every Jam girl does when there are a few spare minutes. I changed my Jamicure!

I brought my stuff out to the living room and set up my little nail station on the ottoman. My husband sat in the chair next to me, chatting until my parents got there. My mom was watching me with my application and I showed her which design I'd picked out. My husband looked down and said, "Whoa. You're done already? Didn't you just start them a few minutes ago?!" :)

I decided to stray from all the pink, and go a different route this time...

Take Aim paired with a retired Colorful Arrowhead Accents wrap.
(the picture on the left was outside in natural (shaded) light, the picture on the right is natural sunlight inside to see the detail of the colors in Take Aim)

I really love the design of  Take Aim, but I was slightly disappointed that the colors of the arrows weren't brighter. But I still thought they were super cute! They'll be really great for someone who likes a more subtle-ness to their nails. :)

***Note; I totally would have done the whole Mother/Daughter Jamicure time, but my mom isn't allowed to wear nail polish or even acrylic/gel nails at work. I thought about doing them with her the first night they arrived so she could have cute nails all week and easily remove them when she got home.. but we were just so busy! Maybe next time...

New Fall/Winter 2014 Jamberry Designs

Just like everyone else with a Jamberry addiction, I was placing an order at the beginning of September with the announcement of the brand new Fall & Winter 2014 catalog. Over 100 NEW designs.

When I first received my catalogs, I sat down and carefully looked at every single design. I marked the ones I already had and starred the new ones I wanted. But, I narrowed it down and picked out six.

Once these arrived, I could NOT wait to wear some of my new designs. Problem was... I'd just done them a few days before (#firstworldproblems - I know, I know). So, I admired my latest Jamicure as long as I could. Which only happened to be about six days. I've NEVER changed out my wraps in such a short time frame. Like, ever.

I'm always finding ways to mix & match my wraps. I feel like I get more out of them if I'm not doing a whole entire mani or pedi in the same wrap. Plus, when there are so many to choose from, how else are you going to get to see them all!?

I instantly fell in love with Lady Lace. I'm pretty sure it's my new all time favorite. (And I realize I could be saying this because my previous all time fav got locked away in the Jamberry vault forever at the end of August. RIP Sugar Plum Glimmer.) But seriously now, Lady Lace is gorgeous!

Here is my Lady Lace & Orchid Ombre Jamicure.

Removing your Jamberry wraps

Jamberry Nails are not harmful to your nails, unless improperly removed. You cannot just pull them off. They use a strong, heat-activated adhesive that allows them to stick to your natural nail.

These are two really great ways to remove your Jamberry wraps.

The oil method is perfect if you do not want to use chemicals/polish removers, especially on your little ones!

You can also use any nail polish remover to loosen up the adhesive.

September Stylebox

Last month Jamberry started a new feature - a monthly subscription. You can now have Jamberry wraps delivered to your door!

Each month will feature one item from the current catalog (a wrap or a lacquer), AND one coordinating exclusive item that will never be available to order.

I seriously haven't been more excited about getting mail! August featured a floral design and a coordinating chevron. Who doesn't love chevron, especially in multiple shades of purple!?

Want to know what the mysterious September Stylebox beholds?

Bold colors! Happy Go Lucky (from the current catalog), and a color coordinating Ombre. It's SO pretty on! I can't even explain.

I knew that as soon as other Jamberry consultants or customers were getting their September Stylebox, they would be posting pictures all over Facebook or Instagram. I didn't want my jamicure to get lost, so I did something different.

I paired the exclusive Ombre with an accent nail - Lotus

I am looking forward to wearing Happy Go Lucky, and I think I know just the wrap I want to use as an accent nail. Because, accent nails are ALL the RAGE right now. ;)

Jamberry Pedicures - How long do they last?

As promised, I wanted to share my previous Jamberry pedicure. I mentioned in my last post that I'd had my toes done for six weeks. For real. :)

Here's the pedicure I did. Now, some may say it's cheating because I only have wraps on my big toes. But I have had complete Jamberry pedicures last as long. I just haven't always remembered to take pictures to share!

This is day one. A retired Jamberry design, Pink with White Stars on my big toes, and current Jamberry Lacquer, Kiss, on the rest of my toes.

Here is my pedicure after six weeks, on day 42.
There's clear growth on the cuticle end, but from far away, can you even tell? Because I can't! I even trimmed my toenails at one point and the Jams still stayed on.

I can't always afford to go to a salon and get a profession pedicure, so I really love that I can do my own, and have them look professional!

My Jamberry Pedicures

I can't tell you the last time I saw my toe nails bare. For years and years I have either gone to a salon for a relaxing pedicure or painted them myself at home. I just spent the past seven years living in Texas so I am sure you can imagine the number of sandals I own. Your toes ALWAYS have to look nice!

I love getting a professional pedicure every once and a while. I used to go once a month when money allowed. But the last time I had a girls spa day, I was about $95 in the hole for a pedicure and plain manicure (no polish so I could do Jams when I got home!). Ouch. Granted, I spent more than usual because it was a special girls day, but still. On average I was spending $40 on a pedicure when I went. And sometimes, I didn't even go to a stand alone salon... I'd enjoy a pedi at the one in Walmart from time to time. (still spent $40, too)

This is where Jamberry saves me. I can do my own pedicures and they are not just polish. They're super fun designs and look professionally done!

The best part about a Jamberry pedicure? They LAST. Like, for a really long time. Seriously. I did a new set yesterday, and the set I removed had been on for SIX weeks. Forty-two days. No joke. Sure, there was growth on the cuticle end, but they still looked really great. And from far away you can barely tell. I mean, who *really* sticks their face that close to your feet anyway?!

**(The photos of my six week Jams are on my phone, so I'll do a post about those when I upload later!)**

Here's my NEW Jamicure! These are a retired design, Impact Moon. They were featured as a "french tip" design. I am LOVING these. My husband and I were sitting on the couch watching a movie, and I couldn't stop checking out my toes! :)

Now, here's the cool part I was telling you about. You can see how little it took for me to do my toes. I used the big piece on my big toes and then used what would be left overs if I had done a manicure with these wraps.
*The reason I used two different halves for my big toes, rather than cutting one in half is that Jamberry gives you two different looks for the "french tips." If you look closely, you'll see that one end of the teal color is smaller than the other. So next time I'll use the other halves and there will be less teal with more of the "tip" design. :)

Now that I have one pedicure done, I will still be able to use the rest of this sheet to do one more pedicure and two manicures. I'll probably even have a couple pieces left over to do accent nails with my Jamberry Hint of Mint Lacquer!

Are you as excited about Jamberry pedicures as I am?

Impact Moon is a recently retired design, but it can be re-created with some of the NEW Fall/Winter styles like ....

Embracing Retired Designs

Ten days since my last Jamicure. That's about as long as it takes for me to get antsy and want to do something new. My Jams still look amazing, but I seriously can't wait. Especially when I ordered from the Going, Going, Gone retirement list at the end of August. So you can imagine how excited I was about finding the signature purple envelope in my mailbox!

Today's Jamicure is not pink. I know, you're shocked. ;)  I am too actually. I wasn't sure how I felt about either of these retiring wraps but the more and more I saw them, the more I just had to have them! I didn't care if my husband has some strange hatred for the color teal! (For real. He loathes anything teal.)

I'm sure you've already noticed this, but I looooooove to mix and match my Jams. I often take advantage of the Buy 3 Get 1 Free deal, to find designs that complement each other or wraps I already have.

I've had a lot of compliments on this Jamicure. I might have gone a little crazy. I'm not sure that adding the white chevron was a good idea, but hey, other people thought it looked great!

I am wearing:
Retired Turple Ombre, Retired Teal Sparkle. Accented with White Chevron (NOT retired!).

I realize I am probably teasing you with some of the retired designs that are no longer available, but you can re-create a similar look with some of the new Fall/Winter designs!

Jam Time

Since my Jamberry collection keeps growing, I had to find a better way to stash all my stuff!

I was recently at Walmart or Target and decided to take a stroll through the photo area to take a peek at albums. As I mentioned in my last post, storing Jamberry wraps in a 4x6 album works perfectly. I was using two 4x6 albums that I found for $1 each. But now, my Jam collection has grown. I found this super cute glittery spiral album that works perfectly!!

Just a few weeks ago I hosted a Thirty-One Gifts party. I ordered a couple organizing items but was the most excited about the mini tote for my Jamberry supplies. Tonight I finally sat down to organize things. To my delight .... everything fit!

How are you storing your Jamberry Nails & accessories?

My Mini tote is full! Currently holding ....
1 Jamberry heater
1 mini rice bag
12 bottles of Jamberry Lacquer (2 box sets, 4 individuals)
1 zip lock filled with nail sticks, files, scissors, cuticle oil.

Another pink Jamicure, because he said so

Sometimes when I flip through my Jamberry Nails collection, I get overwhelmed. I've been a consultant for just over a year, and a customer barely longer. I have a pretty decent size collection. I have multiples of my all time favorites because I know Jamberry does TWO retiring lists each year; and my favorites could be sent away to the secret vault, never to be seen again. I love to mix and match, add a cute accent nail here and there. So of course I sometimes make purchases of Jams that coordinate. Thus, overwhelmed.

In these desperate times, I call to my husband. For real. Half of the time when I am doing my nails I am sitting on the couch while we are watching tv, so he's *right* there. I can just hold up a couple and all he has to do is point. Occasionally I'll hand him my whole stash and tell him to "just pick one!" for me. And he does. I think he likes that I appreciate his opinion or that I want my nails to look nice for him, not just myself.

I fell on these desperately overwhelming times on Sunday evening. I have all of my Jamberry wraps in a photo album (they fit PERFECTLY in a 4x6 ... just sayin'). I sat flipping through and couldn't decide. My husband wanted to play a game but he was waiting for me to finish my nails first. After ten minutes or so he said, "give me the book." Fifteen to twenty minutes later ..... Voila!

Carmen Ombre  -  I originally wasn't sure how I felt about this design when I first saw it, but the more and more pics "on real hands" I saw, the more and more I loved it. I think it's my favorite pedicure for sure!

Here's my pedicure pic from back in April.

Also, I'm still pretty impressed with the fact that I got a whole manicure & pedicure out of the Jamberry sheet, and I'll still be able to get one of each again!

That moment you realize your Jamberry nails match .... everything.

Your nails usually say a lot about you or your personality. Maybe the colors you pick match outfits in your closet. Or designs you choose represent other things you enjoy in your life.

My favorite colors are pink and purple so it's no surprise that a lot of my Jamicures match or coordinate with a lot of my clothes.
Because of this, you would think I would NOT be surprised when I'm sitting in a salon chair, relaxing while getting my hair done and I look in the mirror, phone in hand, to see this ....

My exclusive August Stylebox Jamicure matches PERFECTLY with my cell phone case. I'd had my nails done like this for a little over a week and only noticed while sitting in that chair, facing a giant mirror. But to be fair to myself, when I have my phone near me, it's face up, so it's not like I stare at the back all the time. ;)

So, what does YOUR jamicure match?

Jamberry August Stylebox

Jamberry Nails has decided to create an exclusive subscription based item. You can now have your favorite nail items delivered to your door each month!

Each Jamberry Stylebox will include one item from the catalog and one exclusive coordinating item.

You can check out all the details about the Stylebox HERE

Open enrollment began in July with the first Stylebox shipping out on August 5th. I received mine the other day and it was like Christmas even though I knew what I was getting! Because this was the first month, Jamberry exects launched the item showing everyone how the Stylebox worked and what we'd be getting. This month is all about the "Color of the Year - Orchid."  The catalog item was a sheet of Orchid Bouquet, with the coordinating exclusive item as a chevron design in shades of purples & orchid. SO pretty!!!

Who wouldn't be excited to see this in their mailbox each month?!

I love the Orchid Bouquet and had previously paired it with Orchid Glimmer

But here's what you've all been waiting for ....

The August Stylebox Exclusive chevron. I'm LOVIN' it!!
I added accent nails in the Iris Lacquer, with Lovestruck glitter top coat (that was an exclusive item with a Valentine Lacquer set).

Going, Going, Gone!

It's that time of year... Have you heard?

Jamberry has over 100 designs being retired from the Spring/Summer 2014 catalog to make room for the new Fall/Winter designs!!  These designs will ONLY be available until August 31st!!!

I've gone through the list and am sad to see a few of my favorites being locked up in the Jamberry vault forever, but I've also been making a "gotta have" wish list to grab before they're gone. :)

I threw together this collage of all MY Jamicures wearing designs that are on the retiring list.

Top: Candy Chevron (Matte), Raspberry Sparkle, Alphabet, Sapphire Blue Sparkle, Wisteria
Middle: Heartstrings, Pink & Purple Peacock, Feminine Flair, Red Sparkle
Bottom: Black & White Damask, Neutral Tiger, Lollipop Chevron, Sugar Plum Glimmer

Take a Peak at the rest of the Going, Going, Gone list  - How many are on YOUR wish list?!

Pink is my favorite color

Hey Jammers!

Today I was putting together a collage of all my Jamicures that featured the upcoming retiring designs (calm down, you'll get to see these in my next post!). I came to the conclusion that pink is most definitely my favorite color to do my nails in. I'm not biased. I don't judge. Any shade of pink will do. ;)

I did spice it up a little and do two purple Jamicures in a row, and then a blue one. Whoa! Way out of the box for me! -lol- But now I am back to pink!

Did you know that Jamberry Nails offers designs on a clear background? Perfect for layering! I used Black Tips (in medium length) on top of Raspberry Sparkle. Then I did a few accent nails in my "Unicorn" retired design, Black Lace on Magenta. I'm thinking this is probably my second all time favorite Jamicure yet, and that's saying something since I've been wearing them for about a year now.

What do you think? Love it or Leave it?

I also felt like re-doing my pedicure. It's also pink. ;)

I did my big toes in retired White Stars on Pink, and the rest of my little piggies with the new Kiss Lacquer. Definitely loving it too!!

Try It Thursday - 7 Day Challenge

One of the most fun things about Jamberry, is giving out FREE samples so everyone else can truly understand WHY I love them SO much!

Jamberry Nails samples come in a few of the smaller sizes of the most popular, new designs. One sample will do two nails - one on each hand.

I like to encourage people to take on the "7 Day Challenge" while trying out their samples. It's a great way to really show how Jamberry Nails stands up compared to polish.

If you'd like to try out the 7 Day Challenge - Fill out this survey with all of your info! It's THAT easy!!

These are the current samples I have available. I let people choose *TWO* designs.

Here are a couple photos from ladies that took the challenge, and were surprised at how their polish didn't last!

Why Jamberry Nails, you ask?

Hi Y'all!

This is a story all about how my life got flip-turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the Consultant of a place called Jamberry Nails

I wanted to start my blog by introducing myself and telling you why I love Jamberry Nails SO much!

I've been a nail polish-aholic forever and I've always wished for two things:
1. I wasn't a nail biter so my nails would actually grow, and
2. That I was as talented as some of you nail artists, so I could do awesome designs (not just worry if my left hand looks at nice as my right(shout out to all the Lefties out there)!).

Jamberry Nails has been the answer to BOTH of these issues. Not only do my nails look pretty awesome all the time (and equally, I might add!), but they've really been growing!!!

Here's a picture of my very first "Jamicure" - see how short my nails are?!  They look alright, definitely have been shorter due to the nail biting, but for my first time around with the Jamberry nail wraps, I think they turned out okay.

The next picture is a great example of how my nails have been growing, and staying longer than I've ever been able to keep them. For that alone, I am completely hooked!

The background to my story? I was introduced to Jamberry by a great girl I am friends with on Facebook. She was hosting an on-line Jamberry party. Her consultant did an awesome job getting everyone interested and even played some games (with prizes!). I didn't even bother with asking for a sample. I'd tried some of the store brand nail effects, so I had the general idea of how these were going to go. Jamberry has a "Buy 3, Get 1 Free" special so I jumped right in and picked out four designs.

I sat on my living room floor with my hair dryer plugged in, all my nail stuff set out on the ottoman and I got to work.  I was pretty pleased with how they turned out for my first time! I loved that they are heat-activated so I could take my time rearranging them on my nails to get them "just so" without ruining the wraps.
The next day at work I was sure to show off my awesome nails, but the truly satisfying moment was a little over a week later I was standing at the copier when a co-worker walked up to say hi. She looked at my nails and said, "Oh my gosh! Are those the same nail things you had on last week when you showed me!? They look amazing!!"  Yep. Definitely hooked.

That was a year ago (July 2013). I jumped in and decided to host my own party where I earned so many free or half-off things! Then with a little push from my best friend, I decided to dive into the consultant world.  I won't lie, I didn't really know what I was doing at first - I've never done direct sales before - and it was a little slow going for a while. But I was determined to keep trying at the pace that worked for me (between my "day job" and spending time with my husband).  It's a year later and I probably am not even close to where other consultants were after their first year, but I'm completely loving it. I love having pretty nails, and getting paid to have them! ;)

Whew! That was an incredibly long first post! Don't miss the tabs at the top of the page to follow me on Instagram or Pinterest. Or check out my Facebook Fan Page for the latest Jamberry Nails updates. You can even stop on over to my Jamberry web page to browse over 300 designs!

I hope you'll stop by again! :)
